Started as a holiday project to test a theory: building exactly what you need with AI is now better and cheaper than adopting professional products. Ten days and $50 in API costs later, my wife uses it daily. The real discovery wasn't the app — it was how easy it was to build a system that improves itself across sessions. Custom /handoff commands, project diaries, and executor-evaluator patterns turned Claude into a collaborator that got better every day. Became the basis for a published essay on self-improving AI workflows.
